  1. Koh Tapu (James Bond Island), Phang Nga


The island, originally known as Ko Tapu or Nail Island, found fame through the 1974 Bond film “The Man with the Golden Gun”.

To get to the island it takes a 2-hour trip from Phuket. There are many tours to this island, including other tourist attractions like the Monkey Caves (Wat Suwankuha), floating fishing village and a ride of a longtail boat (you have to take this to get to the island).

  1. Bridge Over River Kwai, Kanchanaburi


Internationally famous, thanks the several motion pictures and books, the black iron bridge was brought from Java by the Japanese supervision by Allied prisoner-of-war labour as part of the Death Railway linking Thailand with Burma. Still in use today, the bridge was the target of frequent Allied bombing raids during World War II and was rebuild after war ended. The curved spans of the bridge are the original sections. A daily train is still following the historical route from Kanchanaburi to Nam Tok Railway Station.

The Ancient City or Muang Boran is located on the old Sukhumvit Road, km 33. The whole area is 320 acres and has a shape like the map of Thailand. There are more than 100 monuments constructed at reduced scale but big enough to imagine the actual size.
